Over the last couple of days, I've been making Front Controller bilingual.

It supports french and english by default, but you can add more languages by editing the app/util/STR.json file.

Version 0.6 (english only) is still available.

I just installed my PHP SMTP server on my iMac.

I've tested it with telnet and it works :)

Every email ends up in a folder on my iMac.

To make it accessible to the internet, I would have to make my PHP script able to forward emails from my Ubuntu server to my iMac, as port 25 is already pointing to that server.

I'll try to do that this weekend :)

I have successfully made my iMac able to receive email.

I modified my PHP SMTP server so it can transfer email from the internet, through my Ubuntu server, to my iMac.

Now, all emails sent to p@imac.p97.ca end up in a folder on my iMac.

That was fun :)

I am now able to reply to email sent to p@p97.ca :)

I made a PHP webpage that allows me to send email.

It was easier than I thought.

My previous attempts did not work because I was not connected to the right server.

To send to *@gmail.com, I was connecting to smtp.gmail.com using telnet.

I was supposed to connect to the server listed in the MX DNS record of gmail.com.

I did not need authentification or encryption as I previously thought.

Simply connecting to port 25 is working.

I tried to add an SPF record for p97.ca but it didn't work.

Gmail is no longer receiving my emails even though I deleted the SPF record.

Sending to Videotron works.

I hope it will work again when the DNS cache expires in an hour.

I waited an hour and I can now send email from @p97.ca to @gmail.com.

I just upped the maximum email size on my server from 1MB to 5MB.

I also tested scanning something on our networked printer/scanner and it successfully ended up in my inbox (p@p97.ca).

I wonder if there is something someone can send to Gmail that would result in me being blocked sending emails to Gmail.

I'm afraid someone can send a lot of spam with my email address in the From header and get me blocked.

This is why I tried to setup SPF (which did not work).

I just modified my email-sending PHP script so that I can send attachments.

It was fun :)

I just got my fourth dose today.

It was about an hour from when we entered the building to when we came out.

For my work, I am now working on (testing) an online order website my supervisor made for an italian restaurant.

I am going to need a thermal printer to test it. (The printer will be installed in the restaurant's kitchen)

(My employer is in Montréal and I am in Québec working remotely, he thus needs to send me a printer through the mail)

I just got the paper but the printer is not yet there.

It is probably used, judging by the light scratches on it.

The Feed button works, but I will have to wait until Monday for it to be configured by my supervisor.

(I have ShowMyPC installed, so he can take control of my PC at any time)

Turns out the printer was definitely used.

According to the self-test, it printed 92 kilometers of paper and did 533 692 cuts.

I just got my second spam email since September 10.

It was for the same website as the first one.

Yesterday, my boss told me that they would raise my salary from $19/h to $22/h.

I also got a $500 bonus :)

For the past couple of days, there has been a fly in my room.

No matter how often I try, I can't squish it with my hands.

As soon as my hands get close to it, it flies away.

I just hanged flypaper to catch the fly.

My dad successfully smooshed the fly with his hand.

I am always annoyed at websites that constantly log me out.

I just modified Front Controller to use a session cookie instead of server-side sessions.

The cookie is stored in my user table, so it will never expire or change on its own.

This means that you can stay logged in forever.

If you ever forget to log yourself out on another device, I added a "Reset cookie" button that resets (changes) the cookie.

FC is also now much faster when changing pages.

(I was previously using a custom server-side session handler that saved the session data in the database, which slowed things down)
