When I was a kid, I thought Wi-Fi worked by having every website be a different frequency.

Today's disorders don't /have/ to be disorders. To me, it's a matter of opinion. Some people may view something as a disorder and some may not. Some people may base their opinions on criteria or what they like or don't like to see. But to me, that you base your opinion on something does not mean it is not an opinion.

I have not been sick once in the past five years.

I just moved some links around on my home page. I thought I had too many links at the top so I moved some down.

I just spent the last few hours converting episodes 15 to 23 with VLC and putting them online. http://www.goldrush2010.net/ Usually, I would do it every week when the episode came out, but I was behind. Weirdly, ffmpeg on my server would not work. The file was not readable. This is why I used VLC on my iMac.

I just collected the first half-bucket of maple sap for this season. Walking all the way to the back of our backyard (across the river and to the tree) is a lot of work. I usually stay inside 24/7. So all this walking is a lot of exercise for me.

There was barely any snow yesterday. Now I wake up to this.

I just spent yesterday and today watching for the first time season 6. http://trail.goldrush2010.net/ I had torrented, converted and put online the episodes when they came out, but I did not watch them at the time.

In season 2 of Gold Rush, James Harness built a filter for Little Blue's hydraulic riffles. In season 4, Parker bought the filter along with Little Blue. Then, the filter was used for new hydraulic riffles on Little Blue. The next time I saw the filter, it was being used on Big Red. I wonder where it is today.

My first cauldron of this year is full of maple sap. I will be boiling tomorrow morning before work to make maple syrup. (I work at home from 8am to 12pm. So I will be able to look at it regularly).

I made myself a webpage to more easily delete comments.

It took 4 hours at high to make just over a mason jar of syrup.
Friday, March 15, 2024 at 1:39 PM
I just ate a full teaspoon of syrup. It tasted sweet :)

I just put online seasons 9, 11, 12 and 13. I downloaded the episodes when they came out, but did not put them online at the time. http://www.goldrush2010.net/

I just put online the first episode. I have not watched it yet. http://backyard.goldrush2010.net/

I regret not having downloaded episodes when I could. Now it is too late as the torrents are no longer seeded. I'm thinking of Bering Sea Gold, which I had stopped downloading because I did not watch it.

To me, the concept of dying does not make sense. Even after you "die", the body is still there and continues to change and interact with the environment. It does not stop. To me, the fact that the criteria for death have changed over time means it is not a fixed concept. I don't personally understand or need the concept of death.

When I re-read the articles on this blog, I feel like a lot of people will think I'm stupid and have poorly thought out opinions.

I'm pretty sure the various machinery noises you hear in Gold Rush were added by the production people. One sound I recognize is used an awful lot.

I just put online the series. http://yukon.goldrush2010.net/

I just collected the sap from our maple tree. I had not collected it in the past few days. The bucket was full and its contents frozen solid. I brought the bucket inside to thaw it out.

I'm wondering where my point of view in this world is coming from and where it will go in the future. Since I believe that being born and dying are not limits, this means that my point of view was there before I was born and will be there after I die. But then, how come I have only memories from after I was born ? Maybe my memory is just another way to see the world, like seeing, hearing and feeling. It would start at birth and in the following years stay available to me and allowing me to recall the past. Another thing that bothers me, is that I cannot know if others are feeling the same thing as me on this point of view thing. Maybe I am the only one to have one and the world is just a big show made for me. I am also wondering what is the link between my point of view and my body. I believe that the limit between my body and the environment is artificial and was created my man, and that everything is one single giant blob with no inner boundaries. I wonder if my point of view is attached to some atoms in my body (even though I do not believe the world is made of atoms). I might be trying to make sense of something that should not make sense. Maybe someday, I will be looking at the world from a leaf in a tree over my grave.

"Why are you thinking about this ? I thought about this years ago and everyone else did too. You're late. Stop writing about that stuff. You should not be writing about things that have already been thought about and written down." -- Someone reading my blog.

In Gold Rush, when Tony visited his second dredge, there was a beautiful generator in it. This season, we learned that Tony planned to use a modern generator for the second dredge. (The generator for Dredge #1 would not start, so they used the new one for Dredge #2) I wonder where that old generator is now.

Since a lot of websites use React, it means that Facebook can decide which browsers can and cannot view those websites. This is not good.

I am watching Gold Rush season 9 episode 5. The filter is attached to Big Red. I wondered where was the filter a few days ago : http://log.philippe97.ca/2024-03.html#1710348075

Even if we could communicate with our minds, we would still need some form of language. So it would not allow us to do more than we already can with our mouths and hands.

The problem with HTTPS is that you have to ask for permission from someone to put online a website. There are a few companies that issue HTTPS certificates and you need one of them to put online a website. They may also refuse to renew certificates in the future. With HTTP, you don't depend on anyone. You don't need permission and you are free to put whatever you want on your website, no matter what other people say.

I made some changes to FC yesterday. I made it possible to have unlimited subpages. Previously, I would have two global constants : SUBPAGE and SUBSUBPAGE. Now, I have an array. Example : URL : /app.php/Fr/Home/ In VueHome.php : protected function GET() { ... } URL : /app.php/Fr/Home/Hello/Coucou/Test/ In VueHome.php : protected function GET_Hello_Coucou_Test() { ... }
