It's not because people can say what they want that we have to support everything they say.

The Genesis of Disease #

Friday, July 10, 2026 at 8:36 p.m.

There is a doctor.

He looks at some people and goes "they are different ! I don't like it and I think nobody normal should be like them !"

So now, he picks up a name, selects some "symptoms" and gets other doctors to share his opinion.

Then, he gets it approved into the DSM. All over the country, doctors read the DSM and agree to share the same opinion about what is and is not a problem.

Finally, the disease has been created.

Every generation of doctors repeats what the previous one said. There might be a few changes as they try to philosophate on the best way to alienate people.

"Different is bad and different must be removed"

Dogma to the max. "Things are as they are because they are as they are and therefore must always stay as they are and anyone saying otherwise must be silenced"

I don't want a cure for autism. If a cure was to exist, it should not be used. (I would put an exception on the people who do not like how they are and want to change) Ideally, I would not even have autism as a condition, and I would like to be different in the same way everyone else is. I know I can't have that, so the next option would be to get the "disorder" part removed. I want autism to be something normal, to be encouraged. I am proud to be autistic. I don't want people to be sorry for us. I don't want people to see me as "handicapped". I don't want people to look at me and think I should try to hide what they don't like about me and force myself to imitate "normal" (better) people. I don't want the therapy that wants us to act "normal." Autists can have strengths and weaknesses. It's not all bad. Don't kill autism. We can't be wired the same way or be different in only "allowed" ways.

The generator is working #

Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at 10:44 a.m.

Yesterday, we lost power from 6h30pm to 3h30am.

Our generator worked great. We had not yet tested it with our outdoor inlet.

We have an emergency panel with all the important stuff on it. We can turn off hydro and switch to the generator whenever we want.

My two UPSes kept our internet access and my server online until we started the generator.

(I have a UPS in the mechanical room for Starlink, my router and my switch. And another one in my office for my server, work PC and iMac.)

Paved #

Monday, July 20, 2026 at 2:17 p.m.

Last Friday, the paving under the deck was finished.

They had to remove the staircase before the work (July 9th) and put it back after.

The paving will be surrounded by grass.

Stairs #

Here is the staircase removed.

We removed it on July 9th so the contractors could slope the stone under the paving.

The bottom of the staircase was two inches lower than the bottom of the door. They replicated that slope exactly.

Ideally, the paving would have been done before the stairs, but our general contractor needed to complete the deck to get paid. So they built the stairs first.

Then it was removed, then the ground paved and then it was reinstalled.

After the staircase was reinstalled, we initially thought that it was at the wrong angle, but after measuring, it was fine. It was the glass wall on the flat part of the deck that was not vertical and gave the illusion that the stairs' angle was shallower.

There are a lot of ways to understand something, and any of them can be useful.
