Today I installed the timer in the large shed for the outdoor outlets I want to install.

There will be five of them. They are connected with direct-burial 12/3 cable.

(I'm using gauge 12 instead of 14 because the last outlet is very far away. They will be on a double 15A breaker. The black wire is always powered and the red one is on the timer)

I want to power my christmas lights with them. Last year, we used long extension cords.

Today me and my dad installed the first 4x4 and electrical box for my outdoor outlet project.

But the outlets we have were not the ones I wanted. (They were the kind where you have to bend the wire around the screw instead of having a plate under the screw under which you can insert two wires per screw).

It was very windy.

Today, me and my dad finished installing the fourth and last 4x4 and electrical box.

This was the only one where we had to shorten the spike that goes into the ground.

We also buried the cable between the fourth and fifth boxes.

(When the excavator was there, I only planned four outlets, so the cable was buried between those four. Now that dirt has been added, we can't have an excavator mess it up)

We had to cut into the grassy dirt and push the cable into the ground. It only needs to be deep enough so the lawn mower won't cut it. It will carry the power from the fourth outlet to the fifth.
