Today I installed the timer in the large shed for the outdoor outlets I want to install.

There will be five of them. They are connected with direct-burial 12/3 cable.

(I'm using gauge 12 instead of 14 because the last outlet is very far away. They will be on a double 15A breaker. The black wire is always powered and the red one is on the timer)

I want to power my christmas lights with them. Last year, we used long extension cords.

Today me and my dad installed the first 4x4 and electrical box for my outdoor outlet project.

But the outlets we have were not the ones I wanted. (They were the kind where you have to bend the wire around the screw instead of having a plate under the screw under which you can insert two wires per screw).

It was very windy.

Today, me and my dad finished installing the fourth and last 4x4 and electrical box.

This was the only one where we had to shorten the spike that goes into the ground.

We also buried the cable between the fourth and fifth boxes.

(When the excavator was there, I only planned for four outlets, so the cable was buried between those four. Now that dirt has been added, we can't have an excavator mess it up)

We had to cut into the grassy dirt and push the cable into the ground. It only needs to be deep enough so the lawn mower won't cut it. It will carry the power from the fourth outlet to the fifth.

I just found a simpler way to generate an RSS feed and modified my blogging software to use it :

Today, me and my dad spent two hours installing the five outlets and waterproof covers for my outdoor outlet project.

I had to shorten the wires to get the outlet to fit in the box.

The top outlet is on the red wire and the bottom on the black. The red one is connected to my timer in the large shed.

By my calculations, I should be able to plug in ~256 7W christmas bulbs on the 15A circuit. (I have a double-pole breaker in the panel that feeds the 12/3 cable)

Today, we shocked our well and plumbing with chlorine.

It is recommended to be done once a year.

The main thing is bypassing our water treatment (filters, softener and UV lamp), adding chlorine to the well and letting it sit in the plumbing for a few hours.

That involved a lot of messing around with our valves.

We added chlorine in the well, made it reach every tap and let it sit for some time.

Then, we turned our treatment system back on and flushed the residual of chlorine (after removing the bulk of the chlorine in the well by letting it flow outside)

Yesterday, we flushed our well with chlorine. When we were done, none of us could smell chlorine from the taps.

But, today, my mom says her water tastes funny. Tingling on the tongue.

Now, I'm super scared we messed up when we flushed the chlorine from the well.

We had a hose connected to the water from right outside the pressure tank and we let it flow outside.

What I'm afraid we messed up is that we let the water flow near the well and might have put lots of chlorine all around the well underground, making it pretty much impossible to get rid off.

I am panicking now. We ordered a chlorine test on Amazon that should arrive tomorrow. In the meantime, I'm drinking from a plastic bottle.

I want to know objectively how much chlorine is in my drinking water, not by guessing with my tongue.

But, I don't smell anything (or at least I don't think I do). So things should be fine.

I don't know.

The chlorine tests we ordered yesterday have not arrived.

Hopefully, they will be delivered tomorrow, along with the other 19-in-1 tests we bought.

There are these people coming from out of nowhere DEMANDING I see myself in their words and will not see themselves in mine.

AI isn't creating anything.

You take a bunch of code you're not supposed to use, put it in this magic machine, crank the handle, and you get brand new code you can use !

The chlorine tests have arrived...

...and the results were great !

The chlorine concentration was well under 1 mg/L, the smallest resulution the test we bought can detect.

We tested the water both at the output of the well (before treatment) and at various taps around the house.

Yesterday, fearing we had chlorine in the well, we let the water running outside, far away from the well, for about nine hours.

The sample we kept from the water before that flushing also had under 1 mg/L of chlorine.

Yay.

That was followed by the more relaxing activity of changing the batteries of our smoke detectors.

It's no fun when they start screaming in the middle of the night.

When it happened with mine, I unplugged it and threw it in the filing cabinet of my office. (they are powered with both 120V and a 9V battery)

I am now drinking my well water with confidence.

At least now, I have dates : March 2027 for the award and 2028/2029 for broadcast.

I really don't get why they made it a Microsoft Word document instead of a normal HTML page.

You have a website ! HTML is free, easy to use and can be viewed by anyone !

That document doesn't contain anything HTML can't do.

Every fall, around when the new phone comes out, my mom's calls start acting up.

Sometimes she can't hear them, sometimes they can't hear her.

She's with Vidéotron, but the same thing happened when she was with Bell years ago.

This is suspicious.

Today, me and my dad spent two hours cutting a hole in the shed's wall and putting in an outlet.

Tomorrow, we will install the breaker in the panel.

A thing that annoys me is when people pretend they have no control over something. That is comes from nowhere and that they are just under it.

But in reality, they are in full control.

And then they let the thing control them. It becomes a feedback loop.


People invented autism, and now they try to see what causes it.

Autism comes from the personal opinion of a certain group of people. They pick what they don't like about autists and add it to autism.

There will never be a "physical cause" of autism. Not part of the DNA, not part of the brain, not part of the blood. It was invented by people and it is not "physical" at all.

"Autism" can be removed, it was added !


This is one of my worst articles. I hate reading it, but I will publish it anyway...

I got poison ivy on my left cheek friday while I was installing the outlet behind the shed.

I do not have it on my hands. Probably because I always wash them when coming back inside.

I don't want/need to be considered the same as other people, but being equal would be nice.

I tried to not put hydrocortisone on my poison ivy cheek today and it did not itch.

I guess my poison ivy is over.
